Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to our licensed nursing staff, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of unit supplies, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making up charts.
  • Collect data on assigned patients as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrate competency in selected psychomotor skills, including measurement of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and measuring and recording intake and output.
  • Perform or assist patients with activities of daily living, prepare patients for transportation, and complete vital signs, including post-procedure frequent vital signs.
  • Provide assistance with institutionalized needs, including feeding and blood glucose as needed, complete hygiene care, and assist patients to the bathroom.
  • Complete patient turns, I&O collection, daily weights, and answer call lights.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Completion of CNA coursework within the past 24 months or successful completion of Carle's HCT In-Training Program.
  • Documented relevant medical military training or successful completion of at least one semester of nursing clinical experiences.
