Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Front Office Support Professional to join our team at Optum. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient-oriented service in clinical or front office settings, performing clerical and administrative duties related to patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and families, collecting demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility/benefits.
  • Utilize computer systems to enter, access, or verify patient data in real-time, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Process referrals, pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations according to insurance plan requirements.
  • Verify insurance coverage, create price estimates, and conduct conversations with patients on their out-of-pocket financial obligations.
  • Collect patient co-pays and engage in conversations about their financial responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work onsite at St. Joe's Hospital
  • 18 years of age or older
