The Warehouse Operations division is integral to Cardinal Health, focusing on the management of materials and product distribution within a distribution or manufacturing setting.
This includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.Warehouse Operations is tasked with executing a blend of manual or automated processes essential for the receipt, storage, and shipment of products.
Responsibilities include receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, and delivery of goods.Additionally, the team ensures the seamless flow of products from the point of receipt from suppliers to the shipment of products to various internal and external clients.
Job Summary:
The Senior Associate in Warehouse Operations utilizes extensive knowledge to uphold the integrity, quality, and precision of the facility's inventory, which encompasses:
managing inventory adjustments and holds, profiling/sorting incoming products, resolving discrepancies in inbound and outbound shipments, procuring supplies, and ensuring timely delivery and processing of returns.
The Senior Associate implements the facility's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adeptly addresses routine and complex inventory/purchasing control challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory accuracy by overseeing product holds, movements, returns, and automated inventory tracking.
- Enhance picking and replenishment efficiency by profiling products for optimal slotting based on various characteristics.
- Monitor quality and productivity metrics, including damaged products, adjustments, shortages, and cycle counts.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and internal departments regarding inventory accuracy and quality metrics.
- Investigate outbound discrepancies by comparing physical counts with records.
- Report variances to the Customer Care team and ensure prompt shipping of discrepancies to customers.
Additionally, the role involves:
- Resolving inbound discrepancies through communication with suppliers and coordination with Quality Assurance teams.
- Making necessary adjustments in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and assessing implications for customer order fulfillment.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for operational improvements and risk mitigation in inventory control.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Expectations:
- Apply knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of roles outside your immediate responsibilities.
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications.
- Work on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues.
- Adhere to all quality guidelines and work with limited supervision.
