Neurosurgeon Position at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a highly skilled General Neurosurgeon to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. As a member of our medical team, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients and contribute to the hospital's mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services to all New Yorkers, regardless of their ability to pay.
Responsibilities:- Examine patients, order or perform diagnostic tests, and formulate diagnoses.
- Direct or perform therapeutic treatment and counsel patients.
- Consult with other members of the professional staff as needed.
- Timely completion of documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
- Handle treatment of surgical diseases of the brain and spine, and peripheral nerves.
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate quality care to patients.
- Provide data and assist in the quality management of the neurosurgeon division of the department of surgery.
- Supervise Physician Assistants and residents.
- Provide clinical guidance and direction to the house staff and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
- Advises less experienced members of the professional medical staff.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guideline.
- Assists in the establishment and maintenance of standards of performance for physicians and other professional employees working in the service.
- Maintains required credentials, current licensure, and CME requirements.
- Performs other administrative, professional, consultative duties as needed by the Department Chairperson.
- Adheres and conforms to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Adheres to the departmental attendance policy.
- Complies with and maintains Employee Health requirements.
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in the appropriate clinical specialty.
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in New York State.
- Possession of a valid DEA License.
- Current Board Certification issued by the American Board of Neurological Surgery or eligibility to obtain Board Certification within 5 years of hire.
- Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
