Position Overview
The ABL Underwriter is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and documenting the essential elements of credit decisions.

This position involves conducting thorough research on industries and companies, preparing precise and timely credit approval documentation, and engaging in credit approval discussions.

The ABL Underwriter actively assesses credit decisions and identifies opportunities to mitigate associated business risks, adhering to established policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory standards.

This role also entails taking primary responsibility for the quality of underwriting.
Key Responsibilities
- Employs Huntington National Bank's financial analysis software to scrutinize year-end and interim financial statements.
- Utilizes the Bank's risk assessment model to prepare credit approval documents for prospective clients.
- Evaluates the principal risks associated with credit extensions and the nature of mitigating factors.

- Conducts thorough analysis of financial statements, calculating cash flow coverage, leverage, and other pertinent financial ratios; discusses specific cash flow adjustments and assesses their reasonableness.

- Delivers underwriting documentation that integrates financial, business, industry, and risk analysis in a clear and effective manner.
- Provides assistance to Portfolio Management as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ABL Underwriting or Portfolio Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with Field Exams is preferred.
