About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Intern to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
  • Perform tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Assist lead engineers with various project duties and other assigned tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to concerns and research solutions to project concerns.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
Requirements
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.

Location

This internship is located in the United States, with opportunities to work in various locations, including US-CT-Wallingford and US-ME-Portland.

Travel

This role requires occasional travel, approximately 5% of the time.
