Quarry Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quarry Foreperson to join our team at H&K Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient production of materials in our quarry, ensuring compliance with MSHA and H&K Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise all quarry employees, providing training, planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as performance appraisals and coaching.
  • Create a safe worksite, ensuring adherence to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and related documents as needed, and record daily events in a job diary.
  • Schedule materials, equipment, and work for crew, and analyze crew SIPs to create site SIPs.
  • Obtain quantities from crews and prepare for billing process with PM, and analyze cost reports for production adjustments.
  • Accurately code and control onsite costs, conduct site meetings, and attend E&S and Job Turnover meetings.
  • Communicate goals and purpose effectively, demonstrate by example, and influence and enforce company values.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs, communicate with customer representatives, and represent the company professionally.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited educational institution or 5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Able to read blueprints and job-related documents, understand business practices within the organization, and the importance of repeat business.
  • Basic technology skills, including internet, email, and digital photo documentation, proficient verbal and written communication skills, leadership and teamwork skills, self-motivated and organized, safety-focused, and ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory role, experience with heavy equipment used in quarries, experience working in quarries, and MSHA or other safety certifications.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and noise level is usually moderate.
