Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quarry Foreperson to join our team at H&K Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient production of materials in our quarry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Directly supervise a team of quarry employees
    • Provide training and coaching to ensure employees meet performance expectations
    • Conduct performance appraisals and address any issues or concerns
  • Site Management
    • Create a safe working environment for all employees
    • Read and interpret blueprints and related documents
    • Record daily events in a job diary
  • Operations and Logistics
    • Schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew
    • Analyze crew SIPs to create site SIPs
    • Obtain quantities from crews and prepare for billing process
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure all work is performed according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
    • Conduct site meetings and communicate goals and purpose effectively
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Associate degree from an accredited educational institution or 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Able to read blueprints and job-related documents
    • Understand business practices within the organization and the importance of repeat business
    • Basic technology skills, including internet, email, and digital photo documentation
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
    • Leadership and teamwork skills
    • Self-motivated and organized
    • Safety-focused
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and Certifications
    • Experience in a supervisory role
    • Experience with heavy equipment used in quarries
    • MSHA or other safety certifications
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced quarry environment, exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
