Medical Care Provider

- The PA-RTA will provide a full range of physician assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within limits of training and privileges granted by the MTF.
- You will technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries, and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for, and treat diseases, disorders, and injuries.
- You will promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must have sufficient experience and skills to be able to adequately perform the tasks identified in the work statement. You must also have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in one of the 50 states in the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, IAW DHA-PM 602513, Vol 4. Candidates must have ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification during the contract period of performance.
A minimum of two years as a practicing PA in an Urgent Care Center or Emergency Department in the last four years is required. All contract HCPs shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other HCPs. Contract HCPs shall be required to meet Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements. The government will not reimburse for these costs.
