Fire Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler System Inspector to join our team at SSI Fire & Safety Holdings, LLC. As a Fire Sprinkler System Inspector, you will be responsible for performing visual inspections of fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect Fire Sprinkler Systems: Perform visual inspections of fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems from the ground level, checking necessary components, including wet, dry, pre-action deluge, and foam systems.
- Test and Maintain Systems: Trip, observe, and reset dry valves, read gauges, and record information noting deficiencies and ensuring pressures are within acceptable levels. Execute water flow testing, exercise, turn, and lubricate fire sprinkler system valves and run main drain tests on all risers.
- Verify System Functionality: Complete system tests to verify fire sprinkler system devices are working properly and verify proper communication with monitoring stations when working on monitored systems.
- Document Findings: Finalize inspection reports and turn them in to management, discussing deficiencies noted with customers, explaining failed scenarios, and their resolutions.
- NICET Level I Certification: NICET Level I in inspection and testing of fire sprinkler inspection or 2 years of equivalent experience of proven success in performance of fire sprinkler inspection preferred.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Construction Document Knowledge: Ability to read and understand construction documents and specifications used for installation of fire sprinkler systems.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Fire Pump Experience: Ability to inspect and test all types of fire pumps, including diesel and electric motors.
- Backflow Certification: Backflow certification.
- NICET Certification: NICET.
- Fire Sprinkler Experience: 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection and testing.
- Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Pushing and Pulling: Must be able to push and pull items greater than 40 pounds, as needed.
- Ladder Climbing: Ability to safely use and climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 24 feet.
- Height Comfort: Ability to work comfortably on a regular basis, at a height greater than 26 feet.
- Physical Activity: Constant walking, standing, carrying/handling objects, climbing ladders, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
