Position Competencies

  • Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Willingness to operate a Class A tractor-trailer on commercial routes across designated states.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for operating commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with shippers and consignees, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, climb in and out of vehicle cabs and trailers, and remain seated or standing for extended periods.

Role Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance:

  • Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and adherence to them at all times.
  • Understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions or equipment to Dispatch.

Customer Interaction:

  • Communicate effectively with clients as necessary.
  • Resolve issues promptly or seek assistance from Dispatch Operations.

Fleet Management:

  • Ability to interpret work instructions from dispatch.
  • Proficient in electronic communication tools, including in-cab systems and e-logs.
  • Familiarity with regional geography and effective route planning.

Maintenance Duties:

  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and report findings to the appropriate teams.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of assigned loads.
  • Communicate any potential delays to Dispatch immediately.
  • Report any service discrepancies to Dispatch.

Proactive Engagement:

  • Notify Dispatch upon completion of loads and readiness for new assignments.
  • Communicate with Dispatch before the end of the day regarding any additional requirements.
  • Adhere to the schedule throughout the day, taking necessary breaks without excessive delays.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in all areas of responsibility.

Compensation Structure:

Activity-based pay includes CPM rates, stop pay for loading and unloading, and per diem compensation, ensuring fair remuneration for all dispatched work.
