Our offerings include sales and servicing of a wide range of machinery such as: Large and Small Construction Tractors, Agricultural Equipment, Forklifts, Racking Systems, Telescopic Handlers, Prime and Stand-by-Power Generation, UPS Systems, and On-Highway Truck Engines.

Additionally, we offer rental services for Caterpillar and other preferred manufactured equipment for contractors.

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this role is to operate a diesel-powered tractor-trailer to transport various types of heavy machinery, ensuring safe loading and securing of equipment for transit between locations.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, receive, and provide necessary documentation for the delivery or pickup of equipment, including pre-trip and daily logs, adhering to BIT guidelines along with daily time sheets, delivery sheets, and safety inspections.
  • Operate the vehicle in compliance with DOT Federal and State regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in loading and unloading equipment using securement tools such as chains and binders.
  • Receive daily schedules from the dispatcher.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed within established timeframes.
  • Conduct light maintenance tasks (fueling, greasing, repairing, cleaning) on the truck and inform the supervisor of any extensive repair needs.
  • Ensure customer signs the rental agreement upon delivery, noting any equipment damage and documenting it on the rental agreement.
  • Identify and report any abnormal equipment operating conditions to the supervisor within 24 hours.
  • Report any accidents immediately to the dispatcher/supervisor.
  • Recognize and report any unsafe working conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, climbs to heights of 10 or greater, and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The employee often works in outdoor weather conditions and may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations. The work environment primarily involves operating the tractor/trailer and driving on various roads and highways. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, with occasional loud conditions.

High School Diploma or GED or better.

Experience

2 years: Relevant truck experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience driving a manual transmission. Heavy equipment experience.
