Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL truck driver to join our team at The Timken Company. As a CDL Driver - Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting products and supplies between our manufacturing locations, service companies, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Safely operate a 24 ft box truck and/or cargo van to transport finished goods and raw materials over land.
  • Route Planning: Plan routes and meet delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform or schedule preventative maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Logistics: Document and log work/rest periods, log miles spent driving, and retain fuel/toll receipts to maintain accurate records.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently to prevent damage to goods and equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with CDL truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Collect and verify delivery instructions, report defects or accidents, and assist with transportation of products within the facility.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years driving class 8 trucks required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid CDL Class A driving license required.
