The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) plays a crucial role in delivering routine habilitative and rehabilitative therapy services. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the habilitation/rehabilitation supervisor in providing support to individuals within a designated therapeutic area (e.g., supported employment job coaching, vocational rehabilitation).
- Implement treatment plans as directed and accompany individuals to various activities and appointments as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in therapeutic activity spaces.
- A valid driver's license may be required for driving state vehicles, depending on facility needs.
This position operates under moderate supervision, allowing for some initiative and independent judgment.
Core Duties:
- Regular attendance is essential, with potential requirements for specific shift schedules, rotating shifts, or overtime as per agency policies.
- Prepare materials for assessments and assist in conducting evaluations as instructed.
- Support individuals in assigned therapeutic areas through hands-on engagement.
- Collect and document data related to treatment plans as directed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide feedback on individual progress and assist in developing treatment goals that align with the best interests of the individuals served.
- Participate in agency disaster response and recovery efforts as needed, which may involve alternate shift patterns or locations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with relevant therapeutic techniques or a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience or aptitude in using therapeutic equipment and materials.
- Ability to assist in creating treatment and support plans.
- Competence in data collection for therapeutic specialties.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software applications.
- Understanding of ICF-IID regulations and state policies.
- Capability to meet physical demands similar to direct contact staff roles.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
