Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Therapy Technician to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide essential support to therapists in implementing treatment plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans, including direct contact instruction and training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Provide training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure continuity and follow-through of treatment plan objectives.
  • Monitor the implementation of program objectives, gather data, and report to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure the satisfactory completion of paperwork in program-related areas and collect data related to treatment plans.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, providing information on the results of functional skills assessments and response to interventions.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and skills in relevant therapeutic techniques, such as applied behavior analysis and sensory integration.
  • Ability to train staff in treatment methods and related areas.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • General knowledge of ICF/IID regulations and state-supported living center policies and procedures.
