Physical Therapist Assistant Per Diem Opportunity

Spaulding Hospital - Boston and Cambridge is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy and excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will implement treatment programs according to organizational and professional guidelines.
  • Measurement skills will be modified based on patients' age, medical condition, and cultural background.
  • Patient progress and overall status will be communicated with the physical therapist to adjust patient goals, treatment plan, procedures, and discharge and equipment needs.
  • Documentation will be complete, timely, and in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
  • Therapy and health care students will be oriented, trained, and mentored to achieve stated performance expectations.
  • Additional department, organization, or network activities will be completed per established objectives.
  • The Physical Therapist Assistant will uphold the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Minimum 2 years experience for Advanced Clinician.
  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • BLS required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy treatment planning and execution taking into consideration patient's age, psychosocial, cultural, and religious background.
  • Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Maintain variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend, and travel).
