We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Spaulding Hospital-Boston & Cambridge(SRN,SRH,SHC). As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing physical therapy services to patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, you will implement a prescribed treatment program according to organizational and professional guidelines.
- You will modify measurement skills based on patients' age, medical condition, and cultural background.
- You will communicate patient progress and overall status with the physical therapist to adjust patient goals, treatment plan, procedures, and discharge and equipment needs.
- You will maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
- You will orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
- You will complete additional department, organization, or network activities as per established objectives.
- You will uphold the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
- You must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience for the Advanced Clinician position.
- You must be licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- You must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- You must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- You must have basic skills in math and computer science.
- You must have appropriate knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
- You must have effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy treatment planning and execution, taking into consideration patients' age, psychosocial, cultural, and religious background.
- You must have basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
- You must be able to safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to yourself or others.
- You must be able to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
- You must have computer proficiency and be able to learn new software.
- You must be able to maintain a variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend, and travel).
- You must have highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
- You must be able to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
- You must be able to anticipate challenges and develop and implement strategies for addressing them.
- You must have a high level of service delivery and demonstrate initiative with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
- You must have attention to detail.
