Our Collaborative Goals

The Global Project Finance Manager will be an integral part of the Global Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) team within the Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters program, reporting directly to the Program Manager, PFP.

This role entails overseeing the management of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded Enduring Earth Project award and spearheading the development of future public funding proposals within the broader Enduring Earth Partnership.

The Manager will lead the GEF-funded Enduring Earth Project, focusing on advancing sustainable finance solutions for effective conservation.

The GEF Enduring Earth Project aims to stimulate Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) initiatives in Gabon and Namibia, while also designing a multi-country, sustainable finance mechanism in the Eastern Tropical Pacific (including Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama) to support the objectives outlined in the Global Biodiversity Framework and other developmental goals.

Project implementation will occur through the Enduring Earth partnership, with three distinct partners managing national-level execution in each area.

The Manager will adopt a collaborative approach to project delivery, fostering strong partnerships and a culture of continuous learning. They will provide leadership to achieve objectives, ensuring effective communication with GEF and the Enduring Earth partnership.

They will establish the overall technical direction of the GEF project, oversee its execution, and maintain robust relationships with partners, governments, the private sector, and NGOs, ensuring that activities meet established targets within budget and timelines.

They will possess a comprehensive understanding of GEF program requirements, encompassing financial management, agreement oversight, work plan development, performance monitoring, and knowledge management.

This is a three-year term-limited position, contingent upon TNC receiving the public award and funder approval.

What We Seek

Are you passionate about environmental conservation? Through the Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters program, we are actively contributing to TNC's ambitious 2030 Goals aimed at safeguarding the lands and waters essential for all life.

This is a remarkable opportunity for a driven and capable individual eager to join a leading conservation organization.

The Manager will be responsible for comprehensive award management and successful project execution, including program oversight, performance evaluation, and technical implementation.

They will act as the primary institutional liaison to GEF and WWF (as the GEF-accredited entity) regarding the project, maintaining consistent communication with their representatives.

They will lead the project working team and serve as the main contact for external stakeholders, implementing partners, and public ministries.

They will ensure that the TNC-led project team aligns activities with other Enduring Earth initiatives that complement the project and the broader Enduring Earth mission.

The Manager will cultivate key partnerships with public and private organizations to identify and address technical challenges and advance project goals.

They will innovate methods, analyses, tools, and frameworks to meet the needs of natural systems and target communities.

In addition to managing the current GEF award, the Manager will also assist in developing future public funding proposals for the PFP portfolio.

They will collaborate closely with Enduring Earth partners and TNC's global, regional, and country teams, serving as a key informational resource for the GEF Enduring Earth Project and public funding initiatives.
