Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Support Specialist. This role provides essential support to our pharmacists, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional patient care.
About the RoleThis Medical Assistant will assist with daily operational functions, including medication delivery, order processing, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting and be proficient in basic computer skills. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with daily tasks, such as medication delivery and order processing
- Maintain pharmacy and point of care inventory, including reviewing expiration dates and restocking shelves
- Prepare intravenous admixtures, including TPN, large volume, and small volume IV medications
- Perform billing and crediting tasks
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Vermont State Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with moderate knowledge of basic computer skills
- One year of prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
- Demonstrates competency on all shifts (Bench, IV, Swing, Eve) excluding oncology
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) certification required
The salary range for this position is $16.60 - 27.23 per hour, depending on level, with competitive differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Pay Range depends on the level, therefore different ranges may apply: $16.60 - 27.23, Evening Differential rate $4.25, Night Differential rate $8.00, Weekend Differential rate $4.75
