Job Summary:
As Assistant Chief CRNA, you will play a key role in supervising a team of certified registered nurse anesthetists and administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical or medical procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring patient reactions and vital signs during and after anesthesia, taking remedial action when necessary, and submitting postoperative reports on patient condition. Additionally, you will assist in developing schedules, department standards, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Augment department leadership with assistance in hiring, training, and supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists.
• Develop and implement anesthesia plans for proposed operations, ensuring thorough documentation according to policies and standards.
• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, formulate anesthesia plans, and ensure that all pre-anesthesia evaluations are documented thoroughly.
• Explain tests, procedures, and disease processes to patients and their families as indicated, and document that the risks are explained to patients.
• Participate in a patient safety-oriented interface with post-anesthesia care unit personnel when patients are transferred from the surgery suite.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and keep current, accurate, and complete records of procedures performed and patients' conditions immediately prior to the administration of anesthesia.

Requirements:
• Graduated from an accredited school of anesthesia.
• Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) required at hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Masters degree preferred.
