Position Overview

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated CT Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center located in Norfolk, VA.

Incentives:

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Evenings, Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 11 PM.

Department Insights:

At the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center, you will collaborate with a team of experts in cardiac imaging, gaining skills in producing high-quality imaging studies. The field of cardiac imaging is rapidly advancing, particularly in response to guidelines from the American College of Cardiology, which identifies Cardiac CT as essential for patients experiencing chest pain. In this role, you will be trained to perform complex cardiac imaging for high-acuity patients and provide advanced care tailored to cardiac conditions. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and imaging specialists, all of whom possess extensive expertise in the domain. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in research initiatives, contributing imaging support for innovative products and procedures at the forefront of cardiac care. Our environment fosters continuous learning and mentorship, enabling you to share knowledge and skills with the next generation of technologists. We are open to training CT technologists who may not have prior cardiac experience.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from a Trade School in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT or CNMT certification is mandatory.
  • Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be obtained within two years of employment.
  • BLS Certification is required.

As a CT Imaging Specialist, you will perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT-guided interventional procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include providing education to patients and their families, ensuring safe operation of equipment, completing necessary documentation, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and managing supply inventory for examinations.
