Position Overview

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated CT Imaging Specialist to contribute to our Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center in Norfolk, VA.

Significant Sign-On Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Evenings, Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 11 PM

Department Insights:

At the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center, you will collaborate with a skilled team of cardiac imaging professionals, focusing on producing high-quality imaging studies. The field of cardiac imaging is rapidly advancing, especially following recent guidelines from the American College of Cardiology, which has recognized Cardiac CT as a primary imaging method for patients experiencing chest pain. In this role, you will gain expertise in performing complex cardiac imaging for high-acuity patients and enhancing patient care for those with cardiac conditions. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary care team, including cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and imaging specialists, all of whom bring extensive experience to the table. Additionally, you will play a vital role in research initiatives, providing imaging support for innovative products and procedures at the forefront of cardiac care. Our environment fosters continuous learning and development, allowing you to share knowledge and skills with emerging technologists. We are open to training CT technologists who may not have prior cardiac experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Trade School in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT or CNMT certification is mandatory
  • Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be achieved within two years of employment
  • BLS Certification required

As a CT Imaging Specialist, you will perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT-guided interventional procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include providing education to patients and their families, ensuring safe operation of equipment, completing necessary documentation, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and managing inventory supplies for examinations.
