Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated CT Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center located in Norfolk, VA.

Full-time, Evening Shifts, Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 11 PM

Department Overview:

As a part of the Heart Hospital Advanced Imaging Center, you will collaborate with a team of cardiac imaging professionals, gaining expertise in producing high-quality imaging studies. The field of cardiac imaging is rapidly advancing, driven by new guidelines from the American College of Cardiology that designate Cardiac CT as essential imaging for patients experiencing chest pain. Within our center, you will master the techniques required to perform intricate cardiac imaging for high-acuity patients and provide exceptional care tailored to cardiac needs. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and imaging experts, all of whom bring extensive knowledge to the table. Our center also plays a crucial role in research, contributing imaging services for innovative products and procedures at the forefront of cardiac care. We are open to training CT technologists who may not have prior cardiac experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Trade School in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT or CNMT Certification is mandatory
  • Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be achieved within two years of employment
  • BLS Certification

As a CT Imaging Specialist, you will perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT-guided interventional procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Responsibilities include educating patients and their families, ensuring safe operation of equipment, completing necessary documentation, maintaining equipment in a clean and functional state, and managing inventory supplies for examinations.
