Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Coordinator to join our team at the Center for Trauma. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating, orienting, supervising, and evaluating students and clinical instructors on campus and at clinical sites. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of emergency medical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule clinical site orientation sessions for students with each clinical agency
• Conduct site visits at clinical agencies and facilities to observe students during clinical shifts and field internship
• Provide program orientation and training to clinical and field preceptors
• Maintain regular contact with clinical preceptors, clinical sites, and EMS agencies
• Assist the EMS Program Director with the evaluation of the program clinical sites
• Assist clinical preceptors by providing evaluation devices of student learning and clinical experience to measure progress and competency
• Function as a liaison between the EMS program and the clinical sites
• Monitor student clinical progress and clinical competency based on program objectives
• Audit all clinical documentation to ensure students are maintaining satisfactory progress in achieving clinical requirements
• Maintain all clinical documentation as required by CoAEMSP standards and OEMS regulations
• Assist the EMS Program Director with seeking new clinical agencies/facilities as needed to provide quality experiences for EMS students and to support program growth.

Requirements

• National Registered Paramedic
• VDH Paramedic (or ability to obtain)
• Associate's degree in a related field
• Knowledge of EMS program skill tracker software
• Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• VDH EMS Education Coordinator
• Experience as clinical coordinator for paramedic program
• Emergency Room Tech
