Job Summary

The Clinical Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating patient flow and coordinating activities and communication for the clinical area nursing unit during their assigned shift. This position serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, healthcare providers, administration, and other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient care is delivered in an efficient, caring, and courteous manner.
  • Facilitate patient flow and coordinate activities and communication for the clinical area nursing unit.
  • Serve as a resource and leader for patients, staff, healthcare providers, administration, and other disciplines.
  • Organize and plan work with input from the patient/family, with specific outcomes and demonstrated use of sound clinical judgment and resources.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to RNs, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, and other staff members as needed.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, with Charge Nurse experience or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Academic Health Care experience and experience with similar patient populations in acute care settings are also preferred.
Education and Training
  • Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing.
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited program is preferred.
Work Environment

The Clinical Coordinator will work designated shifts, days of the week, and/or holidays based on work area. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with the supervisor.
