The Role of the In-House Interior Designer

This position requires several key skill sets, including drafting, specifying FF&E, traveling, design review, and collaboration. You will work closely with project teams to provide design review on new projects, ensuring Touchmark design standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft interior finish plan sets, furniture plans, and construction details using CAD or Revit programs.
  • Communicate effectively with commercial vendors to specify FF&E, including fabrics, window coverings, wall coverings, art, and fixtures.
  • Travel to communities for multiple days to shop, decorate, and physically set up model homes, including driving and air travel.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide design review on new projects.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve maximum efficiency.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in residential, senior housing, or hospitality design.
  • A 4-year college degree in interior design (BIArch, BFA Interior Design).
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of executing projects with a collaborative and communicative approach.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to understand and interface with Touchmark's accounting, facility management, and project tracking software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for multiple days, including driving and air travel.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
