Position Overview
Role Summary:


Accountable for the exploration, integration, evaluation, certification, and ongoing support of avionics and electrical systems and software for general aviation aircraft.

Collaborate closely with equipment manufacturers, alongside other systems engineers and test pilots within the organization, to define and enhance cross-system requirements for a seamlessly integrated avionics system, ensuring a high-quality user experience characterized by safety, reliability, and intuitive design.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Integration and evaluation of avionics and electrical systems and equipment, including:
  • Development and traceability of requirements
  • Research and identification of viable solutions to design challenges
  • Detailed design and installation processes
  • Creation, execution, and troubleshooting of test cases on both bench and aircraft
  • Coordination of design development and system integration within the organization and with subcontractors
  • Production of high-quality reports and test plans to fulfill certification requirements
  • Generation of engineering documentation in compliance with company protocols to develop and maintain type design data for various aircraft

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) is mandatory
  • 2-6 years of experience in general aviation avionics development and integration
  • Notable Education and Experience:
  • Pilot experience is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with the following is preferred:
  • Integrated avionics systems (e.g., G1000, G3000, etc.)
  • Development processes for avionics systems, software, and hardware (e.g., ARP4754/DO178/DO254).
  • Requirements traceability tools (DOORS, JAMA, etc.)
  • Equipment environmental qualification (e.g., DO160)

Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • Ability to convey technical knowledge clearly and understandably
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient use of laboratory equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA, PTC Windchill PDM, and PTC Creo tools is preferred
