The Opportunity:


As the Lead Operations Strategist at Decarbonize, you will take charge of executing manufacturing strategies and initiatives that enhance our facility's competitive edge and profitability.

This position directly manages safety, production, and quality assurance while fostering collaboration across various departments.

Ideal candidates will oversee and synchronize these efforts to ensure timely product delivery while adhering to quality benchmarks and cost objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Provide direction and growth opportunities for the team, cultivating an engaging atmosphere with well-defined roles, clear objectives, and visibility into weekly progress updates.

Collaborate effectively within a matrix organizational structure.

Work closely with sales teams on demand forecasting to ensure that future requirements are anticipated and met, with products shipped accurately and on schedule.

Stay informed about equipment updates, enhancements, and modifications.

In collaboration with the Senior Director of Manufacturing, manage the annual budget, including capital investments, and oversee the preparation of cost control reports, labor estimates, and facility requirements forecasts.

Transform the organizational culture towards Continuous Improvement and Accountability. Advocate for, develop, and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Establish and enforce standard manufacturing practices based on comparative analyses of methods, costs, and production metrics.
Identify and nurture process improvement leaders to consistently evaluate and enhance efficiencies and workflows.
Direct the production of goods at the lowest feasible cost while maintaining established quality and quantity specifications.
Implement inventory management controls and ensure that inventory turnover goals are met.

Remain updated on equipment changes, additions, and modifications that may necessitate adjustments in the operations team's scope.

Ensure compliance with all relevant OSHA, EPA, local regulations, and company safety protocols.
Guarantee that all team members adhere to applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulations, and company safety standards.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in food manufacturing operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

A proven history of effectively managing large-scale food manufacturing operations, emphasizing production efficiency, quality assurance, and cost management.

Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and experience in implementing food safety and sanitation practices in a manufacturing context.

Strong leadership and interpersonal capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team towards shared objectives.

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, employing a data-driven approach to process enhancement and optimization.

Outstanding organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects concurrently, and meet stringent deadlines.

Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems and other manufacturing software for production planning, inventory oversight, and reporting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with employees at all organizational levels.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent training in continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Familiarity with sustainability practices and initiatives in food manufacturing.
Prior experience in implementing automation and technological solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of international food safety and quality standards (e.g., ISO).

Compensation:


The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $158,000 annually, which is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.

In addition to the salary, this role is eligible for a potential annual bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
