Job Overview

As an integral part of our IT department, the System Administrator II will oversee and enhance all aspects of technology operations within our continuously active facility. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, managerial skills, and the capacity to deliver consistent IT support in a high-demand environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Assume a leadership position in addressing IT challenges, ensuring smooth operational continuity.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement and implement effective solutions to optimize IT systems in our dynamic environment.

Problem Solving and Remote Assistance:

  • Quickly diagnose, resolve, or escalate IT-related challenges through a mix of onsite and remote troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide clear guidance to users and ensure a rapid resolution process based on the nature of the issue.

Asset Management:

  • Ensure accurate tracking and billing of IT assets as they are utilized, maintaining accountability and oversight.

Client Support and Communication:

  • Document incidents and issues in the ticketing system.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation in our knowledge base, emphasizing the importance of thorough records in a non-stop operational context.
  • Deliver precise and realistic information regarding IT services and products.
  • Timely follow-up with clients, recognizing the critical nature of issues in a 24/7 operational setting.

Emergency Response and Availability:

  • Participate in after-hours emergency support rotations with fellow IT personnel.
  • Be on-call as necessary, understanding that immediate response to facility needs may be required outside of standard hours.

Core System Administrator Duties:

  • Active Directory & Office 365 Administration: Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 environments across various locations.
  • Cloud & Virtualization Management: Oversee Microsoft Azure Global Tenant and design/manage Hyper-V virtual infrastructures.
  • Server and Database Management: Facilitate server integration with existing systems and maintain SQL Server databases, including troubleshooting tasks.
  • DNS and Email Security Management: Handle DNS configurations and provide secondary support for email filtering platforms to ensure security compliance.
  • Web and Network Support: Administer IIS for web applications and provide foundational networking support, including VLAN and DHCP management.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Conduct daily system evaluations, diagnose potential issues, and ensure system reliability.
  • Programming Skills: Apply object-oriented programming knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues with custom applications.
  • Documentation and Policy Contribution: Maintain comprehensive documentation and assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Project Oversight: Work collaboratively in a technical environment, managing multiple IT projects while supporting end-users.
  • Project Coordination: Manage several concurrent IT projects, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and are completed on time.

Expertise in Industrial Environments:

  • Install and maintain computing systems and electronics in an industrial setting, addressing the unique challenges of a 24/7 operational facility.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 6+ Years of IT Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in IT, showcasing a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proven Leadership in IT and Client Support: Effective leadership in IT and customer service within a technical environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: High-level proficiency in office automation tools, databases, and remote technologies.
  • Comprehensive Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and various technology products.
  • Problem Diagnosis and Resolution Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • English Proficiency: Strong command of English for clear communication.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Commitment to delivering exceptional service and solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong planning abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
