Member Service Representative Job Description

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and helping others achieve their financial goals? We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Member Service Representative to join our team at CEFCU.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional, knowledgeable, and caring service to members, addressing their financial needs and concerns.
  • Demonstrate a strong sales and service focus, using a high-impact questioning strategy to educate and cross-sell CEFCU products and services.
  • Originate consumer and business loans, prepare loan documents, and close loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of electronic delivery channels to assist members with servicing questions and problem resolution.
  • Support marketing initiatives through planning, coordination, and measuring the success of promotions.
  • Perform essential Cashier and Member Assistant duties, assisting at the reception desk and maximizing developmental opportunities through lifelong learning.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
  • Acquire and maintain proficiency in CEFCU mainframe applications and third-party systems.
  • Demonstrated relationship building, sales, and servicing skills, with a thorough knowledge of CEFCU products and services.
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of all Federal and State Regulations governing Financial Institutions, including required continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Member Assistant and Cashier position duties and responsibilities, including technical knowledge of CEFCU and related third-party systems.
  • Thorough understanding of all MSR functions, including technical knowledge of teller system transactions.
  • Proven record of excellent judgment and decision-making abilities, with proven relationship building, sales, and servicing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to proactively evaluate situations using available resources and make informed decisions in unusual or escalated circumstances.
