Role Overview: The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive environment while offering specialized imaging expertise. This position involves performing high-quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, as well as assisting in medical support tasks when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirming patient identity and reviewing medical directives prior to initiating imaging procedures.
  • Providing clear verbal and written instructions to patients.
  • Positioning patients accurately for imaging, which may involve assisting those with limited mobility.
  • Adjusting imaging equipment to achieve optimal settings.
  • Ensuring high-quality images are captured to minimize the need for repeat procedures.
  • Explaining procedures to patients and monitoring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure for both patients and staff.
  • Implementing proper techniques and safety measures, including patient shielding.
  • Managing the inventory of radiology supplies by assessing stock levels and anticipating future needs.
  • Reporting any issues with x-ray equipment to management promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate records of completed imaging procedures.
  • Upholding ethical standards and adhering to relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Logging into the appropriate radiology systems and labeling exams correctly.
  • Matching completed reports with patient charts and organizing them appropriately.
  • At the end of each shift, reconciling logs to ensure all images have been transmitted successfully.
  • Cleaning and maintaining x-ray equipment and films.
  • Performing various medical support tasks, including preparing patients for examinations and documenting medical histories.
  • Assisting physicians during examinations and explaining medical tests to patients.
  • Sterilizing medical instruments and maintaining patient records.
  • Providing support in injury care and conducting drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Performing pulmonary function tests, respirator fit tests, phlebotomy, audiograms, injections, and EKGs.
Qualifications:

  • Possession of required state or federal licensure and/or certification.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Proficiency in performing x-rays on various anatomical regions.
  • Ability to assist and move patients as needed.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality for clients and staff.
  • Dependability and punctuality.
  • Compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to manage stress effectively.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Quick and accurate execution of tasks.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift and carry objects weighing up to 125 pounds, and perform repetitive motions. Extensive use of computers and imaging equipment is necessary, along with the ability to maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis and extensive reading. Work is conducted in a clinical environment, necessitating the operation of standard office equipment.

Mental Requirements:

The position demands the ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks independently. Timely decision-making within a workflow context and effective communication with colleagues and visitors are essential.
