Job Title: Direct Support Professional

WDB Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being are maintained.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, focusing on basic living skills, communication, community interaction, and recreation. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating living environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living tasks, communication, and community interaction.
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, and serving, ensuring individuals receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs.
  • Operate household appliances, including vacuum cleaners, washers, and dryers, to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Accompany individuals into the community, assisting with activities and interactions with the public.
  • Provide transportation to individuals using public transportation, company-provided vehicles, or personal vehicles (if approved).
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records, including program data, behavior data, incident reports, and vehicle mileage logs.
  • Participate in the formulation and implementation of individual treatment plans, including data collection, report writing, and treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with individuals, recognizing their rights as citizens and promoting their dignity, well-being, personal choice, and self-esteem.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a health and welfare background check.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift and transfer individuals with disabilities, up to 50 pounds.
