Job Overview:

Summary:

The Class A Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a commercial vehicle, transporting various fluids related to the oil field industry. All tasks must be executed in accordance with company protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and the effective completion of assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely maneuver a tanker truck across diverse terrains.
  • Be available for on-call duties to address emergency situations.
  • Adapt to working day or night shifts as required.
  • Maintain precise documentation of work activities in compliance with company standards.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of maintenance practices related to the equipment.
  • Complete necessary training related to equipment operation, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Comply with company policies and operational guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
  • At least 2 years of verifiable hazmat handling experience.
  • Current DOT Medical Certification.
  • Willingness to work up to 70 hours per week.
  • Ability to be on-call as needed.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening, background checks, road tests, and physical assessments.
  • Experience driving in oilfield settings for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Knowledge of trailer and truck placarding.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials regulations regarding labeling, transportation, and loading.

Physical Requirements:

The role involves exerting varying levels of physical force, including:

  • Occasionally lifting 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Frequently lifting 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly lifting 10 to 20 pounds.

Physical demands exceed those typical for medium work, requiring standing, walking, and sitting in both indoor and outdoor environments. The position may necessitate lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.

Work Environment:

Operators spend significant time behind the wheel, often away from home and family. The role may require working nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential exposure to various environmental conditions, including chemicals, gases, temperature extremes, noise, dust, and heights.
