About the Role

Cox Automotive is seeking an experienced professional to join our commercial department as an Automotive Quality Assurance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for auditing condition reports and suggesting recon work to clients in the auction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control the workflow of designated sign-off areas and alert management/lot operations when lots are full.
  • Review vehicles after condition reports and potentially test drives are completed, checking for accuracy and updating/add/delete damage lines when necessary.
  • Suggest recon work to estimators, inside/outside coordinators, and clients to improve vehicle values and condition report grades.
  • Suggest methods of selling/announcing vehicles during the sign-off process.
  • Verify mechanical technicians have correct test drive notes/information/codes related to repairs needed; if not, inform the test driver/management.
  • Verify body work/paint times for suggested recon work.
  • Add images to CR/damage lines for additional views of damage if missing or hard to view.
  • Use Smart Approve technology and tablet.
  • Learn and understand various account certification levels, NAAA guidelines, Arbitration guidelines, and light system; use this knowledge to qualify vehicles appropriately during sign-off and suggest recon work to "upgrade" vehicles.
  • Communicate with others via email and phone as needed to verify information, suggestions, pricing, vehicle issues, etc.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 1+ years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond an HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in an automotive or auction industry-related field.
  • Self-sufficient work ethic.
  • Prior experience in the Auto Repair/Body/Maintenance industry is highly preferred.
  • Maintains a professional but friendly demeanor.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills and is willing to collaborate with others.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission preferred.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
