Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) preventative maintenance, which includes the replacement of coils and filters.
+ Execute trailer preventative maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and testing safety equipment like fire alarms and extinguishers.
+ Diagnose and repair various trailer components, including doors, floors, side panels, cabinets, and performing exterior cleaning and painting.
+ Carry out Generator preventative maintenance, including oil changes and basic repairs.
+ Maintain technical proficiency across all shop areas, including tractors, trailers, tires, and basic parts management.
+ Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; certification in Diesel Mechanics, HVAC Technology, DOT Trailer Inspection, or Electrical from a recognized institution is preferred.
+ A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a trailer mechanic is essential.
+ A CDL Class A license is preferred.
+ Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and personal computers is necessary.
+ A solid understanding of general repairs and preventative maintenance criteria is required.
+ Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and updates is essential.
+ Mechanical aptitude and an interest in electronics and precision equipment are important.
+ Skills in fabrication and welding are preferred.
+ The role may involve approximately 20% travel.
+ Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements may be necessary.
+ Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Physical Demands:
Employees may encounter exposure to various environmental hazards. The role involves:
+ Frequent activities such as sitting, standing, and walking.
+ Repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs.
+ Communication abilities, including seeing, speaking, and hearing.
+ Occasional activities such as stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, and lifting 10-20 lbs.
