Job Title: 1st Shift Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1st Shift Plant Operator to join our team at The H&K Group, Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of plant equipment, ensuring maximum production and efficiency. This is a regular full-time position with a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Perform daily greasing and oil checks on crushers and screens
  • Inspect and report any maintenance issues to the superintendent
  • Ensure all walkways are clear of debris and report any spillage issues
  • Perform daily guarding inspections and plant checks
  • Inspect screen media to ensure proper condition for maximum production
  • Keep the operating booth clean and free from any inappropriate materials
  • Carry out duties and work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of quarry operations and work crew
  • Assist workers in solving production problems when needed
  • Fulfill necessary paperwork daily
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or one month of related experience and/or training)
  • Basic mechanical abilities
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Safety-focused
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ months of related experience and/or training
  • Experience with equipment maintenance
  • Experience with loader operations
  • Experience with Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher
  • MSHA or other relevant safety certifications
Work Environment:
  • Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Noise level is usually loud
