Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to lead our centralized bakery. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the production of baked goods, pastries, and other sweet and savory items
  • Supervise a team of pastry chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to meet customer demands
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior pastry chef or bakery management role
  • Proven track record of success in managing a team and driving business growth
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary certification (e.g. CMC, CEC)
  • Experience with inventory management and cost control
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
