Job Summary

The Dining Services Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the assigned food service department. This role involves supervising and leading a team of staff members, ensuring the efficient production and delivery of food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of staff members to ensure efficient food production and delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the food service department.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff, administrative staff, and other supervisors to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation practices, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Manage inventory and supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and departmental performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as hospitality, food service management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in food service or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and provide feedback.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Familiarity with computerized management tools and record-keeping systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional culinary or supervisory training.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a food service or related field.
