Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Designer to join our team at Western States Fire Protection. As a Fire Alarm Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and possibly project managing fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create detailed drawings of fire alarm systems using specialized software such as AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or HydraCAD.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors, General Contractors, and owners to gather required information for designing fire alarm systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and create stock lists for all materials required throughout the project.
  • Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work and maintain design historical records for future use.
  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers' expectations.
  • Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information.
  • Perform Project Manager functions as required.
Requirements
  • Applicable degree from a technical school or college.
  • NICET certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD or other specialized fire sprinkler layout software.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines.
  • Three years' experience in commercial, industrial, and residential design.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Willing to coordinate and work well with others.
