Job Summary

Hills Bank is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance Monitoring
    • Conduct regular monitoring reviews to identify potential compliance risks and compile reports on the results.
    • Work with supervisors to develop recommendations for addressing control weaknesses.
    • Track reported compliance violations and responses from department leaders.
    • Conduct quality control testing and compile reports to share with department management.
    • Deliver training to branch personnel and support staff on compliance policies and procedures.
    • Stay up-to-date on federal and state compliance laws and regulations.
  • Data Review
    • Review and maintain accurate loan data using computer systems.
    • Work across departments and product lines to resolve loan data integrity issues.
    • Maintain and update records for external exams and audits.
    • Independently work on loan reviews to ensure timely submission of loan data annually.
    • Build strong relationships with lending and lending support areas of the bank.
    • Compile monthly error reports to track error trends and improve data collection accuracy.
  • Other
    • Gather request list items for external exams and audits.
    • Assist with department projects as needed.
    • Support other bank activities as part of the overall team of bank employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 4-5 years of banking experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills needed in a typical office environment, including computer skills, communications skills, and utilization of office equipment.
