About this Opportunity: This position is responsible for implementing the organization's Compliance Management System and driving essential compliance initiatives for civil entities in the United States and Mexico. Core initiatives include developing policies and procedures, conducting internal investigations, delivering training, offering compliance counseling, performing diligence screening, monitoring compliance activities, and conducting risk assessments. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of corporate compliance and ethics risk mitigation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Compliance Management System: Assist in leading the company’s comprehensive compliance management system, with a focus on corporate and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate Compliance Program: Act as the day-to-day coordinator for the company’s compliance program, developing initiatives, driving best practices, and establishing strong processes.
  • Trusted Advisor: Serve as the go-to advisor for employees on all compliance-related topics.
  • Code of Conduct Management: Oversee the development and awareness of the Code of Conduct. Act as the initial contact for inquiries regarding Code and develop awareness programs in collaboration with Legal, HR, Communications, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, Data Privacy, and other Business Units.
  • Allegation Management: Work closely with Director of Compliance to manage incoming allegations, including reporting within compliance and management, conducting thorough investigations, and preparing recommendations or root cause analyses.
  • Legal and Regulatory Research: Analyze current and proposed laws and regulations that may impact the company, providing practical solutions and actionable guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Compliance Training: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, ethical standards, and internal rules.
  • Culture of Compliance: Foster a culture of compliance through ongoing communication and awareness initiatives.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present periodic reports to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support Director of Compliance in leading cross-functional teams on compliance initiatives and collaborate on global compliance efforts.
  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify significant risks affecting the company and determine specific risks the company may be exposed to. Collaborate with business units to implement strategies for mitigating and managing identified risks.
  • Monitoring and Auditing: Assist in establishing and overseeing the monitoring and auditing processes to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Conduct reviews to identify areas for improvement and address potential compliance issues.
  • Audit Support: Participate in and support internal audits.
  • Business Partner Due Diligence: Lead the Business Partner Due Diligence Process for the North American region, performing due diligence on high-risk business partners.
  • Information Security and Data Protection: Assist and regularly collaborate with the regional Information Security Officer and Data Protection Officer.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required and Graduate of an Accredited Law School and admission to a State Bar is preferred (Michigan or South Carolina highly preferred)
  • Minimum of  3 years related experience working as Compliance Officer for manufacturing company
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Travel: Up to 50% (mostly domestic with occasional international travel). 
  • Bilingual and fluent in Spanish is preferred.
  • High level of Communication, Organizational, Mathematical, Reasoning Ability Skills
