Job Overview

Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Principal Storage Engineer to manage storage services in multiple environments and provide solutions for storage-related issues. The ideal candidate will be a strong troubleshooter with experience in storage issue mitigation and prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and support advanced storage and virtualized infrastructure
  • Develop and implement storage solutions optimizing for performance and scalability across multiple computing environments and platforms
  • Utilize Linux skills at the command line to support and maintain storage configurations for storage devices, including SAN, NAS, and scale-out object storage
  • Maintain contact with vendors for hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with system administrators and other engineering personnel for implementation of storage configurations
  • Obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days

Requirements:

  • Active and transferable DOD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Typically requires a BS/BA degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics, and 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting Network Attached Storage Systems (e.g., Dell, IBM, NetApp)
  • Experience with fiber channel configurations on storage, fiber channel switches, tape libraries, and servers, including multipath configurations
  • Experience with enterprise backup architecture, emphasizing Cohesity of backup solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with block and file storage in a cross-protocol system administration
  • Experience with Brocade fiber channel administration
  • Experience with backup systems like Cohesity or NetBackup administration
  • System administration with RHEL OS
  • Desirable experience with design and initial build of cross-protocol storage solutions
  • Desirable experience with storage architecture and trade studies
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
  • Experience using automation frameworks such as Ansible or Chef
