Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Infrastructure Engineer Linux OS to join our agile product team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting Linux-based infrastructure solutions, with a focus on Linux Server and Linux OS expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Linux-based infrastructure solutions, including provisioning of platform, storage, and networking resources.
  • Develop and communicate implementation of infrastructure solutions, leveraging company and industry best practices.
  • Maintain existing systems through Linux-based tools and manage the COTS stack on the system to support program needs.
  • Assist in training junior engineers to support program operations and integrate selected platform provisioning tools, such as VMware.
  • Ensure that all compute, network, and storage resources are properly allocated and maintained for the program's use.
  • Travel to customer sites to assist in system updates and deliveries when necessary.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of related work experience in Linux infrastructure engineering, with a focus on Linux Server and Linux OS expertise.
  • Extensive experience with Linux/RHEL V6+ administration and support, as well as Agile Development Methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe).
  • Experience with troubleshooting applications and infrastructure on Linux-based operating systems, as well as programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
  • Administrative fluency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware solutions, as well as experience with Linux LDAP for creating Linux-based accounts and managing roles and permissions.
  • Notional experience with Windows and Windows Server OS, HW configuration and management, and general/networking experience.
Security Clearance

A S. government issued TS/SCI / (CI Poly Preferred) security clearance is required prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
