The Natural Gas Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that all scheduling functions are executed accurately and promptly, particularly concerning pipeline and departmental deadlines. This position involves data analysis, monitoring and reconciling discrepancies, establishing make-up/pay-back schedules with relevant shippers, and initiating settlement processes. Success in this role hinges on meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to foster positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage nominations for storage activities via the electronic bulletin board (EBB) and internal gas management systems to optimize operations; coordinate natural gas communications with traders.
  • Engage with customers regarding daily requirements and build relationships with scheduling counterparts and pipeline representatives to maintain operational integrity; schedule daily volumes for producer and buyer agreements.
  • Accurately access and populate an EBB.
  • Advise on market area supply alternatives and storage strategies; monitor storage injections, withdrawals, and balances.
  • Confirm daily and monthly nominations with storage company pipeline interconnections.
  • Collaborate with pipeline interconnections to ensure the accuracy of monthly physical volume activities; re-confirm bi-weekly and month-end volumes through interconnecting pipeline EBBs.
  • Work alongside gas accountants to develop and implement invoicing procedures; update databases for invoice and statement preparation; assist in resolving billing discrepancies and addressing inquiries regarding term transactions.
  • Communicate rates, tariffs, fuel rates, and operational conditions to the Front Office; verify requirements with gas producers and buyers.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, or Economics; a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a gas marketing company.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA; at least seven (7) years of senior-level experience in a gas marketing company.
Work Environment:
  • Availability for 24/7/365 operations; willingness to work after hours, participate in on-call rotations, and cover nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Additional Requirements:
  • Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and general PC skills.
  • Experience with multiple pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs) and commercial activities; ability to conduct analyses that lead to revenue generation and/or cost reduction.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures related to gas accounting.
  • Familiarity with Endur pathing requirements.
  • Knowledge of storage asset utilization, as well as LDC and power generation markets.
  • Strong grasp of regional and physical grid operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Daily live and G2 systems.
  • Preferred: Experience in gas accounting.
  • Preferred: Comprehensive knowledge of US gas pipeline systems, major plays, and business operations.
