Position Summary
The Lead Analyst for Natural Gas Trading is responsible for overseeing scheduling processes, including nominations and confirmations, ensuring adherence to pipeline and departmental deadlines. This role involves maintaining daily spreadsheets, analyzing data, monitoring imbalances, and coordinating make-up/pay-back schedules with relevant shippers. The analyst will schedule and track natural gas transactions for a designated region.

Key Responsibilities
- Schedule gas purchases and sales, documenting all activities in Calpine systems to support profit and loss reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Calpine's risk policies for all trades, taking necessary actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Interpret and communicate production, consumption, and scheduled data while providing daily trading positions.
- Validate transactions against pipeline nominations and make economic decisions regarding gas routing and imbalance management.
- Conduct data reconciliation activities and assist with routing and deal input strategies.

Technical Expertise
The analyst will possess comprehensive knowledge of gas control, capacity release markets, storage, and pipeline transportation, playing a crucial role in daily sourcing optimization. Responsibilities will also include marketing, fundamental analysis, position management, and project-oriented work.

Decision-Making and Collaboration
This position requires independent judgment and in-depth analysis of diverse problems, collaborating with senior professionals to select appropriate methods and techniques.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience, including familiarity with trading tools, indices, and pricing techniques.
