Position Overview:
The Natural Gas Scheduler plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the post-deal trading processes to ensure seamless execution of contracts. This position is crucial in providing traders with essential market insights and commercial data as required.
Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously while effectively communicating and collaborating with various teams including commercial, accounting, analytics, and operations.
  • Timely nomination and confirmation of natural gas trades across both interstate and intrastate pipelines, along with management of storage inventories and reconciliations.
  • Monitoring of pipeline cuts, constraints, and maintenance activities, advising risk and trading teams on potential costs and penalties associated with trades.
  • Provision of market intelligence (e.g., constraints) to traders and assistance in optimizing capacity on an intra-day and intra-month basis.
  • Active participation as a key contributor in daily commercial decision-making processes.
  • Regular updates to the ETRM system with the most accurate information available, along with validation and reporting of next-day and intraday positions to traders.
  • Willingness to work outside regular hours, including on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Establishment and maintenance of strong working relationships with scheduling counterparts.
  • Support for the Settlements team to ensure prompt invoicing.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced environment while meeting daily deadlines.
  • Strong communication abilities and numerical proficiency are essential.
  • Adherence to Trafigura's Code of Conduct, HSEC Policy, and Business Principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret operational requirements and financial implications of transportation contracts, with a solid understanding of the legal framework surrounding natural gas pipeline contracts, tariffs, and regulatory bodies (FERC & RRC).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of common pipeline operations and terminology.
  • Capability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to engage in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, contributing to daily exchanges of ideas between operations and trading.
  • Skill in leveraging relationships and creatively addressing challenges to generate effective, safe, and ethical solutions based on available information.
  • Experience with Allegro is advantageous.
