Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Wisconsin Community Services. This is a full-time position that will work with individuals involved in the Conditional Release program, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support services to individuals enrolled in the Conditional Release program, including one-on-one support and group sessions.
  • Link individuals to various self-determined supports and services, including traditional mental health services and mutual aid support groups.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case files, including initial and ongoing needs assessments and progress notes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with assigned WCS Case Managers and other service providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and weekly supervision as requested.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of state Certified Peer Specialist training.
  • Possess current Certified Peer Specialist certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personal experience with mental health and substance use needs and knowledge of recovery principles.
Working Conditions

This position is mobile, with time spent in the community, including home visits and other community-based locations. A valid driver's license, automobile, and sufficient insurance are preferred.
