Position: TEAP Specialist (Trainee Employee Assistance Program)

Reports To: Health & Wellness Director

Department: Health & Wellness

Primary Objectives: The role involves preparing and leading group sessions for participants in the TEAP program. Responsibilities include scheduling and facilitating activities related to the program and conducting informative presentations for new participants about available services, prevention strategies, educational resources, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Must hold a valid state certification or licensure as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
  • Deliver at least one interactive presentation on substance use prevention for all new participants during their initial orientation.
  • Organize and execute a minimum of three center-wide activities annually focused on substance use prevention and education.
  • Engage in clinical discussions with the Center Director and relevant staff regarding prevention and educational initiatives related to substance use.
  • Review intake assessments of all new participants within one week of their arrival.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to assess when medical separation is necessary for participants with substance use issues.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services targeting behaviors that hinder employability.
  • Assist in creating operational procedures for components related to substance testing and intervention.
  • Develop and track intervention plans for participants, documenting their progress in health records.
  • Facilitate ongoing support groups, introducing participants to self-help processes.
  • Work closely with various staff members to ensure that intervention strategies are well understood and effectively implemented.
  • Gather feedback from counselors and personnel to update intervention plans and behavioral agreements.
  • Partner with recreational staff to create activities that promote a drug-free lifestyle.
  • Maintain connections with community resources for intervention and evaluate self-help groups for appropriate referrals.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly reports for submission to relevant health services.
  • Conduct training sessions on substance abuse for new and existing staff members annually.
  • Strive to meet performance standards and adhere to all operational policies.
  • Follow established safety and property control protocols.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Abide by all organizational guidelines and policies, including those related to equal employment opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the core values and principles of the organization.
  • Support participants in enhancing their employability through consistent reinforcement.
  • Participate in mandatory staff training sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess current certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
  • Must be licensed or accredited in the state of employment and hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Pay: $25.85 per hour
