Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, such as backhoes and front-end loaders, to support rail track construction projects.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in heavy equipment operation, with previous experience in rail construction equipment preferred.
  • Ability to operate backhoes and front-end loaders.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites for extended periods.
  • Sharp attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced environment and knowledge of laser and machine control, as well as blueprint reading.

Additional Requirements:

Certification required for operating on track controlled by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). A CDL would be advantageous.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires working in outside weather conditions, with the possibility of night, holiday, and weekend shifts. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
