Overview
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere. This role involves addressing inquiries from arriving, departing, and in-house guests with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and execute check-in procedures daily, utilizing both manual and computerized systems to guarantee guest satisfaction and room assignments as requested.
- Facilitate guest departures by adhering to established procedures for check-out, ensuring accurate account closure and room availability for subsequent guests.
- Accurately calculate and record financial transactions, including guest accounts and receipts, to present precise hotel charges at check-out while maintaining thorough hotel records.
- Respond to inquiries and manage reservations both in-person and via telephone, effectively communicating hotel rates and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance occupancy and revenue.
- Maintain strong customer relations by staying informed about in-house activities and local events, providing knowledgeable responses to guest questions and concerns.
- Operate PBX equipment to manage incoming and outgoing calls, assist with wake-up calls, and ensure timely communication with guests.
- Handle cash transactions at the front desk, maintaining accountability for personal bank as per hotel policy.
- Exhibit a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support overall hotel operations.
- Contribute to effective communication within the department by maintaining accurate logs and information sources.
- Assist colleagues and other departments to promote optimal performance across the hotel.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a front desk role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comfortable handling cash transactions.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a climate-controlled environment.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
